As a starting point, the unit will explore through mainly two models the shape of 113,3 x 113,3 metres Barcelona block plan (12.837 m² aprox.) in a purely intuitive manner to envision a new configuration. Different malleable materials, such as paper, cardboard, cloth, foam, metal cables, wood sticks and others, will be initially use to let go your imagination constructing various possibilities. An initial critical reflection of the current block configuration and its consequences in the city space will be an important part of this exercise opening possibilities for disruptions, mismatching and transgressions of its present configuration.
After this overall exploration, the unit will inspect a fragment of the whole block that will be maximum a third of the block summarising the finding of previous exercise. Both exercises will generate a range of schematic shapes that will be the beginning of further material and formal explorations.
