Before deeping into block transformations, the unit will familiarize with the different formal aspects of Barcelona Eixample area. In groups, the unit will create an archive of drawings in different scales analysing key information about its urban grain, void, density and grid. A special attention will be given to find urban gaps in the grid or redundant buildings in blocks to possibly insert the different artefacts of disorder. Readings on Barcelona history and an understanding of its urban fabric configuration and evolution will be also conducted.
